ELVIS!

As you can imagine, animals hold a very special place in my heart. I’ve always felt closely connected to them, sometimes more so than to people. Their individual personalities and soulful nature have drawn me in over and over again… I just can’t get enough of these furry creatures!

In July 2003 a wonderful little soul named “Elvis” came into my life. I knew from the moment I first looked into his big, brown eyes it was love at first sight. I was smitten. Lucky for me the feeling was mutual.

Artistic people often dream about having a muse, someone on which to focus their creative energies. When Elvis came into my life I thought (for sure!) that dream had come true. Well, things didn’t quite work out that way. Elvis had other plans, most of which did not include having to work for his supper. From Day One he showed little to no interest in posing for me. He either growled at the camera or feigned misery/boredom/torture, refusing to make eye contact with me through the lens. Most often he simply walked out of the room when my camera came out. It quickly became clear to all involved that my little prince wasn’t getting out of bed for free. This was going to cost me. In the end I had to pull out the big guns - bacon, chicken, freeze-dried liver and some serious belly rubbing.

Despite his reluctance I have managed to snap some fun pictures of Elvis over the years. His funny quirks and personality bring joy to my life everyday and because of that I dedicate this page to him. Thank you so much, Elvis, for bringing love and happiness into my life, you cheeky little dog! I can’t imagine my life without you.
